When you want to see some of your locations together, like your downtown stores or the ones that changed managers last month, pick them in the location picker. Home, Inbox, Pulse and Ask Loops then show those locations as one. If you'll look at the same set again, save it as a named group.
Before you start
- At least 3 locations in your workspace. With 2 locations the picker only offers All locations or one location, because a group of 2 is the same as All.
Steps
1. Open the location picker
On Home, Inbox or Pulse, click the location picker at the top of the page. It shows All locations, then your saved Groups, then your Locations.
2. Tick the locations you want
Hover over a location and tick the checkbox that appears to its left. The picker stays open and the footer shows how many are selected, for example 3 selected. On a phone the checkboxes are always visible.
Tip: Type a city, brand name or category in Search locations or groups, then click Select all N matches to tick every match at once.
Clicking a location's name instead of its checkbox still picks that one location and closes the picker.
3. Click Show
Click Show. The page switches to those locations, and the picker label reads Custom · 3 locations. This is a temporary selection: nothing is saved, and it goes away when you pick something else.
4. Save it as a group (optional)
Click Save as group, type a name (1–40 characters) and press Enter. Loops suggests a name when your locations obviously share one, such as a city. The group is applied right away and appears at the top of Groups. The picker label now reads the group name and member count, for example Downtown · 4.
A location can belong to as many groups as you like.
5. Manage a group from the picker
Click the ⋯ next to a group to Rename, Edit locations or Delete it. To change the locations of the group you're viewing, tick or untick locations and choose Update "Downtown", Save as new or Show (applies the change once without saving it). Deleting a group never changes Pulse reports already generated for it.
What you'll see when it's done
- Your selection stays applied as you move around the app. It carries from Home to Inbox to Pulse and is part of the page link, so you can bookmark it or share it with a teammate. Opening Loops fresh starts on All locations.
- Home shows every tile and chart for those locations only. Location Performance ranks the locations within the selection, so you can see which one is pulling the group down.
- Inbox shows only reviews from those locations, with the location name on each review.
- Pulse can generate a full report for the group or selection. The report header names the group and how many locations it had when generated. Reports for an unsaved selection appear in history as Custom · N locations, with a Save as group shortcut.
- Ask Loops looks at the same locations you picked.
Tip: On Home, you can also tick locations in Location Performance and click View together.
Common issues
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No checkboxes or Groups section in the picker | You have 2 locations, or you're viewing the demo data | Add a third location |
| Save as group is missing | Fewer than 2 locations are ticked | Tick at least 2 |
| "Name must be 1–40 characters" | Name is empty or too long | Shorten the name. Names must also be unique |
| "That group is no longer available — showing all locations." | The link points to a deleted group | Pick or save the group again |
| "1 location was removed from Downtown." | A location in the group was deleted | Nothing to do. Use Edit locations to add another |
| "Couldn't load groups" | Temporary connection problem | Click Retry. You can still use All, single locations and temporary selections |
